Brooklin (Whitby), ON (July 6, 2012) – The humid conditions at Lakeridge Golf Club made for challenging rounds for juniors in the Eastern Canadian Junior Championship. Juniors were tested with narrow fairways, tough greens and plenty of hazards throughout the course. Despite challenging holes, hot conditions and a bit of rain on day one, juniors put forth excellent scores in the three day event. Max Clift of Kitchener, in the Boys 14 & Under claimed his divisional title.
The Boys 14 & Under saw Max Clift from Kitchener celebrate his first CJGA win of the season. “I knew there were going to be tough holes, I didn’t let the bad ones keep me down and it kept me off the bogey train.” Clift came strong out of the gate on day one posting the low round of 73 (+1) and was able to consistently hold the lead throughout day 2 and three. A total score of 228 (+12) declares Clift champion
